WHAT IS A WOMEN'S CENTRE?
Section 1 SHARED ATTRIBUTES: There is enormous variation in services, activities offered, and communities served by women's centres . However, there are some common attributes that stem from political and philosophical values. This section focuses in on the commonalities.
Section 2 ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES: What exactly do women's centres do? This section outlines the activities offered, which vary depending on the needs of the clients and the mandates of the individual centres.
Section 3 ISSUES: Activities and issues are very much connected in the work done by women's centres. Section 3 covers the issues women's centres address through their activities.
Section 4 COMMUNITIES: Women's centres serve women from all walks of life. Section 4 looks at the diversity of women and communities.
Section 5 RESOURCES: Many resources are needed to make a women's centre function. This section looks at the necessary human and financial resources used by member agencies.
